Confession time!
Sketchbooks? Not my thing.
As an artist, that feels weird to say. I feel like sketchbooks are a must have for us, but I have never really cared for them. I don’t know if it’s because I just want to create finished pieces or I just am afraid to create something beautiful just for it to be stuck in a book forever, but sketchbooks? I’ll happily pass on them.
Or at least that was me about a month ago.
It feels so funny to have been inspired to pull out one of the very few I do have and actually enjoy using it. In fact, all the work I’ve done since pulling it out has been in a sketchbook! Believe it or not, but having less pressure to create something beautiful has increased my creativity. I’m trying new things with great success and am having the best time with it!
Don’t get me wrong, there are a couple pages that I’d love to pull out and frame, but that still feels wrong. Maybe I’ll scan them and turn them into prints! Who knows? Stay tuned to find out!
