About the Artist

Hi! Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Shawna Apps, and you guessed it….I love art 🙂

The first thing I ever wanted to be as a young girl was an artist. My love for art grew over the years until high school when we had a bit of a falling out. I rediscovered my passion in college, and graduated with a degree in Studio Art and a minor in Art History from SUNY Brockport. I opened up Back to the Drawing Board in April 2014 once my kiddos were almost all in school, and honestly, it is a dream come true to be doing what I love every day.

I primarily focus on graphite drawings, watercolor and oil paintings, but have also dabbled in murals, graphic design, and some interior design among other artsy things.

I also am the illustrator for the amazing children’s book series The Adventures of Boathouse Mouse. You can check the series out by clicking on the ‘Boathouse Mouse’ tab on the top menu!

I live with my husband, three kids, dog, cat and guinea pig in a tiny little town in Western New York, but long to live by on a lake in New England or out in the deserts out west.
