One of my most favorite scents in the entire world is the smell after a summer rain. You know what I’m talking about, right? That damp, earthy, fresh scent?
Well, fun fact: that scent has a name and it’s petrichor!
Another fun fact: I learned about the name of it in an episode of Doctor Who (#nerdalert)
Well, this piece just happened to be inspired by the clouds and sun after a summer rain, so guess what it’s title is?

Title: Petrichor
Size: 11″ x 14″
Medium: Finger painted oils on stretched canvas
Favorite part: I love the way the grass turned out and how the sunshine blends with the sky; usually when I try to do that it turns green or muddy color. It worked really well this time!
Least favorite part: There are little parts where the paint didn’t blend as well as I wanted, but really, it gives the piece character!
Product availability: The original is up in my shop and prints will be available soon!
