Guys, I was SOOOO excited for today’s drawing!
I was going to be home, have tons of time to work, AND it was going to be an easier drawing as the subject is one I’m very familiar with by now. It couldn’t have been a better set up for drawing….
But life happened.
And my brain was all over the place, incapable of drawing properly.
So I give you my first flop of the challenge:
Title: Funny Little Cardinal
Medium: Graphite pencil and ink on acid free paper
Size: 5×7
When I say “flop”, I just mean that he didn’t turn out how I wanted him to. He’s not baaaaad, just not up to my normal standards.
So yeah, I didn’t even photograph him properly, and this is the only picture I took.
He’s just off in so many ways, and I know how to fix him…but that means starting over. And I didn’t have it in me to do that, so I just did my best to finish him. I would like to redo him at some point, probably once the challenge is done. I have other projects I have to work on along with the challenge that have a tighter deadline, so they have to come first.
My little dude joined me again for the challenge! He had fun sketching with me…
And he even added some color! Here’s his finished piece:
I love being creative with him!
My original drawing is…um….I don’t know yet? I don’t know if I should sell him at a reduced price, or just put him aside or what exactly. So if you’re interested in my funny little guy, just let me know and I’m sure we could work something out 🙂
How was your day, crazy like mine, or nice and relaxing?
Thanks for putting his artwork up too. :o) Hang in there.
